Our 5 tools for $40 deal is always such a popular item! We love to offer this to our customers when we’re running a sale, celebrating an event, or wrapping up the year.
We’ve just released it again for our 2022 NCECA sale that runs Wednesday 3/16/22 - Wednesday 3/23/22.
When we fill these orders, we love seeing what tools folx choose! We thought it would be fun to pick out a collection of 5 and see what we could create on the wheel if we used each tool on a single piece. Check out the results:
Tool 1: T6
We love using this tool to straighten the sides of our cylinders and get them compressed and ready for transformation.
Tool 2: Texture 1
This bubble texture is a classic and the first texture tool we ever made! When creating larger pieces, it’s nice to use it to add interest to the bottom (like in this photo) or carefully use it at the top. It really gives this pot a fun form and still leave some of the wall free for other profiles.
Tool 3: C3
You might be asking, “Where is the tool here?” It’s inside the vessel! Our C tools are circles, and C3 is the medium sized one. Using it on the inside of this wall we are able to get a perfect round form pushing out from the inside.
Tool 4: N3
This simple tools provides versatile flat surfaces. Here, we used the angled edge to help support the lip of the pot as we opened and dropped it down. N3 can help give your piece a more geometric look.
Tool 5: Foot 8
This foot tool sneaks in at the end of throwing to give one last ripple at the very base of our pot. Using the foot tool also helps prepare the bottom for finishing or trimming while giving the form a nice little lift.
